Constraints and Classification

Particularly in large infrastructures it is of high importance to make sure that the appropriate messages are received by the appropriate contact person in the most convenient way at the right time.

What are constraints?

By applying certain controls (constraints) Impulsus isymon® offers the possibility to filter the messages using diverse criteria.

Free combinations

Any of the various constraints can be combined with each other.

“Weekday” constraint

By applying this constraint messages can be sent in many ways (but can also be ignored) depending on the day of the week.

“Time period” constraint

By applying this constraint messages can be sent in many ways (but can also be ignored) depending on the time of day. Variables (“?”) can also be used.

“Text” constraint

By applying this constraint messages can be sent in many ways (but can also be ignored) depending on a certain text string that is part of the message.

“Classification” constraint

By applying this constraint messages can be sent in many ways (but can also be ignored) depending on a specifically given severity. Example: messages of a severity over 1.000 are sent via SMS.

“Host” constraint

By applying this constraint messages can be sent in many ways (but can also be ignored) depending on the issuing computer system. Example: on the weekend messages are only sent from the production system, whereas these messages are ignored when being issued by the test system.
